Unpack the printer, and then remove all packing material
Lift the printer away from the packaging
Remove the tape
Open the front door, and then remove the internal packaging

Pull out the tray completely

Open the front door, and then open the top cover
Remove the used toner cartridge, and then set it aside
Unpack the new toner cartridge
Shake the new toner cartridge to evenly distribute the toner
Insert the toner cartridge
Close the printer doors
Return the used toner cartridge to Lexmark
Replacing the photoconductor
Turn off the printer
Open the front door
Remove the used photoconductor from the printer
Unpack the new photoconductor
Insert the photoconductor
Close the front door
Turn the printer on
Reset photoconductor count
Return the photoconductor to Lexmark
Service maintenance
Replacing the transfer module
Turn off the printer
Unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet
Open the front door
Remove the transfer module from the printer
Unpack the new transfer module
Insert the transfer module
Remove the photoconductors from the used transfer module
Insert photoconductors in the new transfer module
Close the front door
Connect the power cord to a properly grounded electrical outlet
Turn on the printer
Replacing the waste toner box
Remove the used waste toner box
Unpack the new waste toner box
Insert the waste toner box
Return the waste toner box to Lexmark
Replacing the fuser
Turn off the printer
Unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet
Open the front doors
Remove the used fuser
Unpack the new fuser
Insert the new fuser
Close the front doors
Connect the power cord to a properly grounded electrical outlet
Turn the power on
Reset the fuser count
Troubleshooting
200‑201 paper jams
Open the front door
Remove the paper jam in front of the toner cartridge
Remove the paper jam under the photoconductors
Remove the paper jam behind the photoconductors
Remove the paper jam visible under the fuser
Remove the fuser
Remove the paper jam in the fuser
Insert the fuser
Close the front door
202 paper jams
Remove the paper jam in the standard exit bin
Open the front doors
Remove paper jam under the fuser
Remove the fuser from the printer
Remove the jammed paper from the fuser
Insert the fuser
Close the doors
203‑230 paper jams
Remove the paper jam in the standard exit bin
Remove the paper jam in between the front door and Tray 1
Remove the paper jam in the duplex unit
Close the front door.
When “Ready” appears, press the select button
24x paper jam
Remove the paper jam in Tray 1
Remove Tray 1, and then remove the paper jam in Tray 2
Remove the paper jam in one of the optional trays
250 paper jam
Remove the paper jam in the multipurpose feeder
Load paper or other media

Lift the printer away from the packaging
Remove the tape
Open the front door, and then remove the internal packaging

Unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet
Open the front door
Remove the transfer module from the printer
Unpack the new transfer module
Insert the transfer module
Remove the photoconductors from the used transfer module
Insert photoconductors in the new transfer module
Close the front door
Connect the power cord to a properly grounded electrical outlet
Turn on the printer
Replacing the waste toner box
Remove the used waste toner box
Unpack the new waste toner box
Insert the waste toner box
Return the waste toner box to Lexmark
Replacing the fuser
Turn off the printer
Unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet
Open the front doors
Remove the used fuser
Unpack the new fuser
Insert the new fuser
Close the front doors
Connect the power cord to a properly grounded electrical outlet
Turn the power on
Reset the fuser count

200‑201 paper jams
Open the front door
Remove the paper jam in front of the toner cartridge
Remove the paper jam under the photoconductors
Remove the paper jam behind the photoconductors
Remove the paper jam visible under the fuser
Remove the fuser
Remove the paper jam in the fuser
Insert the fuser
Close the front door
202 paper jams
Remove the paper jam in the standard exit bin
Open the front doors
Remove paper jam under the fuser
Remove the fuser from the printer
Remove the jammed paper from the fuser
Insert the fuser
Close the doors
203‑230 paper jams
Remove the paper jam in the standard exit bin
Remove the paper jam in between the front door and Tray 1
Remove the paper jam in the duplex unit
Close the front door.
When “Ready” appears, press the select button
24x paper jam
Remove the paper jam in Tray 1
Remove Tray 1, and then remove the paper jam in Tray 2
