How to Enable 'Auto Convert Color to Mono Faxes' and Enable 'Color Fax Receive' on the X792 and X925

Overview

Consider this procedure if you observe the following when sending or receiving a fax:

  • A03 fax errors displayed on transmission log.
  • A03 fax errors displayed on the fax call log.
  • You cannot send or receive a color faxes.

How to disable or enable color faxing

Method 1: Control panel

This method is preferred if the device is not on the network.

  1. Click on the MENU button.

  2. Click the down-arrow and click on SETTINGS when visible.

  3. Click on the FAX SETTINGS.

  4. Select ANALOG FAX SETUP.

  5. Under FAX SEND SETTINGS, place or remove a checkmark next to

    AUTO CONVERT COLOR TO MONO FAXES

    .

  6. Also under

    FAX SEND SETTINGS, select the necessary ENABLE COLOR FAX SCANS setting: Off by default, On by default, Never Use, Always Use.

  7. Next, under FAX RECEIVE SETTINGS, place or remove a checkmark next to ENABLE COLOR FAX RECEIVE.

  8. Click on SUBMIT.


A03 ERROR NOTE:
If you receive an A03 error when sending a fax, turn ON Auto Convert Color to Mono Faxes. If this error occurs when receiving a fax, turn ON Enable Color Receive.

Method 2: Embedded web server

This method is preferred if the device is on the network and you are not near the machine.

  1. Obtain the printer's TCP/IP address.

  2. Open your web browser.

  3. In the URL field, type http:// <MFP's IP_ADDRESS>, where IP_ADDRESS is the TCP/IP address of the printer.

  4. Click on SETTINGS.

  5. Click on FAX SETTINGS.

  6. Click on ANALOG FAX SETUP.

  7. Under FAX SEND SETTINGS, place or remove a checkmark next to

    AUTO CONVERT COLOR TO MONO FAXES

    .

  8. Next, under FAX RECEIVE SETTINGS, place or remove a checkmark next to ENABLE COLOR FAX RECEIVE.

  9. Click on SUBMIT.
