Solution
The issue happens when there is no SMTP server listed on the printer. To clear the error, you can either:
- Enter a Primary SMTP Gateway in the E-mail Setup menu.
- Disable the intervention message if you will not be using the E-mail feature on the printer yet.
Using the Control Panel

From the main menu, scroll down and tap Settings to access the Settings menu.

Scroll down and navigate to E-mail > E-mail Setup > Disable “SMTP server not set up” error as seen here.

Tap On to disable the error and clear the blinking red status light.
Using the Embedded Web Server (EWS)

Type the printer's IP address on a web browser.

Navigate to Settings > E-mail > E-mail Setup.

Check the box beside Disable “SMTP server not set up” error option.

Click Save to submit the changes.
