Issue Description:
A broad black area appears on the document when scanning or copying using the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) and Flatbed. A sample image is shown below.

Solution:

Make sure to check whether the scanner glass is clean and free of any marks. Clean the glass with a lint-free cloth.

Check the printer's scan/copy settings, such as the darkness levels, content, background removal and shadow detail.

Determine if the issue occurs only when scanning /copying by printing the “Print Quality Samples”. To do this from the Control Panel, navigate through: Settings > Report > Print Quality Pages.
