Overview
This article will discuss print delay issues on a Lexmark MS610 or M3150 printing through a parallel connection from a MS DOS based application.
The issue occurs when printing multiple pages; after printing the first page it takes a long time before printing the succeeding pages.
Explanation
The "Copy Collation" setting was set to "On" for the Lexmark MS610 or M3150, in which the printer was correctly waiting for the "Print Timeout" to expire before it printed the succeeding pages.
Troubleshooting
Access the printer's Embedded Web Server (EWS). Before you begin, a functional network installation (wired or wireless – not a local USB installation) is required for access to the web server of any Lexmark network printer.
Steps | Actions |
1 | First determine the IP address of the print server within the printer. |
2 | Launch your preferred web browser application (e.g., Firefox, Safari, Internet Explorer). |
3 | In the address field after the http://, enter the printer's IP address (e.g., http://192.168.1.5 or http://169.254.1.42). |
4 | Click on Settings then Timeouts. |
5 | Under Timeouts page, make sure that the value under Print Timeout is 90. |
6 | Click again on Settings then followed by Print Settings. |
7 | Under Print Settings, make sure that the value under Collate is set to Off or (1,1,1)(2,2,2). Note: If issue persists after performing the steps above, please contact Lexmark Technical Support.
