Solution
Upgrade the WIA scanner driver to the latest version available using Windows Update (WU). To do so, perform either of the following methods:
Method 1: Manually Update the Installed Driver

Right-click the Start button, and click Device Manager.

Right-click the WIA scan driver, and click Update Driver Software.

Select "Search automatically for updated driver software" to download and update the WIA scan driver from WU.
Method 2: Automatically Update the Installed Driver

Go to Start > Control Panel > Devices and Printers.

Right-click the computer object under the Devices section, and click Device Installation Settings.

Select "Yes, do this automatically (recommended)," and click Save Changes.

Connect the printer to the computer with a USB cable to automatically download the latest WIA scan driver from WU.
Note: If this setting is applied, any other device drivers installed on the system are also upgraded to the latest driver available from WU.
