Solution
Explanation
When a toner cartridge is either brand new or very low, some of the Lexmark printers are unable to report the cartridge level to the reporting system. The capability to report the cartridge level varies from printer to printer, and you may observe different behaviors for different types of Lexmark devices.
- The Last Known Level will report the last cartridge level received for a toner cartridge. You may continue using the toner cartridge so that its level goes lower, but the reporting system will never show a lower value than the last numeric value received.
- The Initial Cartridge Level will report the first numeric level received for a toner cartridge, which may not be 100% because of this hardware sensor limitation.
