2 | Ensure Standard Exit Bin is empty. See red arrow in right-hand image to locate the standard output bin. | |
3 | Ensure the Exit Bin Flag is snapped in place and moves freely. See red arrow in right-hand image for the normal operating position. Note: If the flag does not move freely or is not visible behind the cover, continue to Step 5.

4 | Wait 30 seconds and power on the printer/MFP. Did the error message return? Yes: Continue to Step 5 or go to Contacting Lexmark for information.No: Print a test page. If the page prints, the printer is functioning correctly. | No Image |
5 | Try pressing the Stop or Home button to clear the message. Did the error message return? Yes: Continue to Step 6 or go to Contacting Lexmark for information.No: Print a test page. If the page prints, the printer is functioning correctly. | No Image |
6 | Power off the printer/MFP. Open the upper-front door, and then open the lower-front door. WARNING—Potential Damage! To avoid overexposing the photoconductors, do not leave the front doors open for more than ten minutes. In addition, the printer's interior might be hot. To reduce the risk of injury from a hot component, allow the surface to cool before touching. | |
7 | Rotate the fuser thumbscrews (A) counterclockwise until loosened. Grasp the handles (B) to slide the fuser out from the printer. | |
8 | Shake the white fuser connectors. See if the Exit Bin Flag becomes dislodged and begins to move freely. Look for any obstructions and remove them. Also look for any damage to the flag. If the flag appears damaged, a service call will probably be required to resolve the issue. See Contacting Lexmark for information. | |
9 | If the Exit Bin Flag snapped back into place and begins to move freely, power on the printer/MFP again. Did the error message return? Yes: A service call will likely be required to resolve the issue. See Contacting Lexmark for information.No: Print a test page. If the page prints, the printer is functioning correctly. The issue is resolved. | |
