What you will see
A 203.xx or 230.xx paper jam message displays on the user interface.
Possible symptoms include:
- A tear in the paper.
- Protruding guide at the tear location.

Affected Printers or MFPs
The following printers or MFPs may exhibit this behavior:
- W84X Series
- X84X Series
- W85X Series
- X85x Series*
NOTE: An * denotes multiple model numbers that range within a specific model group.
Suggested Diagnosis/Fix
Perform the following steps to diagnose this problem:
Power Off the device.
Open Door Afor additional assistance.
Remove Exit 2 assembly by simultaneously pulling up both black release tabs. Hint: Pull up and then pull towards you to remove this assembly. Click here for illustration.
Turn Exit 2 upside down in order to locate rib deformities.
If this appears to be the problem, contact Lexmark Technical Support.
Additional Information
You must open Door A to expose the black release levers (tabs). Also, the X85x Series MFP will require that the two sides be removed first. These covers are easily removed.
