Finding the Organization ID and Secret

Overview:

This document outlines the steps for finding the Client ID and Secret used with Cloud Print Management (CPM) for user authentication.

Device Authentication Applications:

When a new organization is created a Device Authentication application is automatically added to it. This has the permissions required to allow clients to authenticate users within this organization.

The Client ID and Secret required by the Cloud eSF application are part of its configuration. When the Cloud Authentication eSF application is deployed from Cloud Fleet Management (CFM), the Client ID and Secret are automatically obtained from Identity Services application the deployed with the it. No user action is required.

Finding the Client ID and Secret:

The Identity Service application containing the organization’s Client ID and Secret is found in the Account Management service in the Cloud Services portal. A user account with either the System Administrator role or the Organization Administrator role is required. The example images shown are those that will be seen by an Organization Administrator.

Note:

A Lexmark Cloud Services user account with either the System Administrator role or the Organization Administrator role is required to access Identity Service applications.

From the Cloud Services dashboard, click the Account Management card and select the organization.

Select the Applications tab. A list of applications will be shown. To find the correct entry use the search function in the upper right corner of the page. First search for “Device Authentication” then “Card” if the first search is unsuccessful.

If a match was found for either of the searches, click the name of the matching application. If a match is not found for either search term, refer to the Getting the Client ID from a Printer section.

Navigate to the Permissions section of the application’s page and verify that the permission as shown is listed:

  • "Access Control and Identity Management Service Suite” is listed as an Application Name.

  • “Access Control and Identity Management Service Suite” has “badges-auth” as a Scope.

If these permissions are correct, use the Client ID and Secret. If it is not, then another application must be used.

Getti

ng the Client ID from a Printer:

The Client ID of an organization can be seen in the settings of the Cloud Authentication eSF application in the Embedded Web Server (EWS) on Lexmark printers. Example screens are shown. Note that the Client Secrets are hidden.

Select the Applications tab. A list of applications will be shown. Enter the Client ID copied from the printer in the search function in the upper right corner of the page and press Enter.
