The user encounters a “Reinstall missing or unresponsive cartridge [31.40C]” error message on the control panel with the same error also shown in the printer EWS.
Remove the toner cartridge and imaging unit.
Check whether the imaging unit installed is a genuine and supported Lexmark unit. Replace if non-genuine.
Check the imaging unit contacts for contamination.
Check the imaging unit for leaks and damage.
Re-install the supplies.
