Unable to open or close high-capacity input tray

Overview

The high-capacity input tray (HCIT)'s pick assembly hangs down, thus making the tray unmanageable to close or open.

Suggested Remedy

Here are the two scenarios for troubleshooting.

If you are unable to close the HCIT...

1

Open the jam clearance cover found on the right-hand side of the HCIT. See jam clearance cover outlined in red on this image below:

2

Once you have the jam clearance cover opened, you should see the pick assembly hanging inside. Note: The tray is pulled outward on this stage and you cannot push it back to close the tray.

3

Reach for the high-capacity feeder pick roller actuator right beside the pick assembly by extending your arms inside passing through the jam clearance area.

4

Press the lever at the top to lock the pick assembly in place. The red arrow is pointing to the high-capacity feeder pick roller actuator in this image below:

Note: You can now close the HCIT.

Should this issue persist, please contact Lexmark Technical Support.

If you are unable to open the HCIT...

1

The high-capacity feeder pick roller actuator needs replacement to fix the issue since it is already blocking the tray from being pulled out at this point.
