What you will see
The printer displays repeated Change Tray messages. However, the correct size paper is loaded in the tray.
An example of this issue would be if the printer were displaying a "Change Tray 1: Plain Letter" message when letter-size paper is loaded in the tray.
Cause
The print job has requested a paper size or paper type that does not match either the paper size or the paper type setting on the tray. When this occurs, the printer will alert you by displaying a Change Tray message. In most cases, this error is caused by the printer incorrectly reading the size of the paper loaded in one of more of the paper trays.
Check the current tray settings
Check all of the tray settings by printing a Menu Settings page. See the table below for directions.

6 | On the first printed page, look under the first column for Paper Menu and examine the Paper Size/Type settings for the tray indicated in the error message. Find out if it is the Paper Size setting or the Paper Type setting that is wrong. NOTE: The Change Tray message indicates the paper size and paper type that the printer is looking for in that tray. Using the earlier example, "Change Tray 1: Plain Letter" indicates that the printer is looking for a paper size of Letter and a paper type of Plain Paper in Tray 1.
- - If the printer is reading the incorrect paper size in any of the paper trays, the rear paper guide on the tray may not be set correctly, or the guide parts may be separated. to read more information.
- - If one or more paper trays are set for the incorrect paper type, you can enter the printer menus and manually change this setting. See the table below for directions.
