Certain apps’ user interface override other apps’ or native apps’ user interface

Issue description

Launching certain apps shows the user interface of other apps or native apps.

This can occur due to the presence of two or more applications which override certain workflows (such as Copy, Fax, FTP, Email, and USB).

Such apps include, but are not limited to, Easy Copy, Easy Scan, Easy Fax, Scan to RightFax (XML), Device Quotas, Device Usage, eDAS for Cost Recovery, and eDAS for User Tracking. These apps must not be installed in the same printer at the same time, otherwise unexpected behavior can ensue.

Solution

In case two or more of these apps are installed, the behavior is that the latest app to be installed or started will prevail. To resolve this issue, follow the steps below:

  1. Uninstall such apps mentioned so that only one of them remains installed.

    or

Stop such apps so that only one of them is running. To stop an app, navigate to the printers Embedded Web Server:

    • Apps > Installed Apps > (App Name). Click Stop.
  2. Restart the app that you would like to override all others. To do this, navigate to the printers Embedded Web Server:

    • Apps > Installed Apps > (App Name).
  3. Click Stop, and then Start.

Example: Stop the Easy Copy app, then Start.
