Standard IP ports are not sending all the job information to the printer

Overview

The standard IP ports in RAW mode are not sending all the requisite job information to the printer. For an example of this issue, see Print Job ID 83 in the job history below. The jobs concerned are printed using the ports listed after the job ID:

  • Job ID 83: Printed using standard IP ports in RAW mode
  • Job ID 82: Printed using LPR port
  • Job ID 81: Printed using Lexmark IP port

As a result, the job is not being correctly populated in the MVP job statistics database or in the job history.

Solution

To resolve this issue, you can use:

  • Lexmark IP ports
  • LPR ports
  • Standard IP ports in LPR mode instead of in RAW mode.

Note:  The information in the job history is the same as in the MVP job statistics database. If the information is missing or corrupted at one end, the same problem will exist at the other end.
