Colored bands print check

Issue description

Yellow, cyan, blue, magenta, or red bands are seen on graphics, images, photos, or large halftone print areas.

The issue is also observed to occur when:

  1. Changing the print resolution to 1200 dpi.

  2. Reducing print speeds.

  3. Using mid to late-life imaging units.

  4. Printing hundreds or thousands of pages within a few hours.

Solution

Perform the following. After each step, repeat the print job and check if the issue is resolved.

  1. Check your device firmware level. If the firmware level is earlier than 230.120, update the firmware by following the instructions in Firmware Update Instructions.

  2. If the printer has been on for several hours without printing, change the printed output resolution to 4800 CQ.

    • On the control panel, navigate to Settings > Print > Quality.
    • Set the Print Resolution value to 4800 CQ.
  3. If the printer has been on for several hours without printing, turn off Quiet Mode.

    • On the control panel, navigate to Settings > Device Maintenance > Configuration Menu > Device Operations > Quiet Mode.

If the issue persists, then search for more information related to this issue or contact customer support.
