Gray or colored background check

Issue description

• A gray or colored background appears on some areas of the print.

Note:  This gray or colored background issue can appear on a portion of a page or the entire page.

• Observed in low humidity or dry environments.
• Examples: 50°F/15% RH (relative humidity), 60°F/8% RH, and 90°F/8% RH
• Imaging unit is greater than 75% unit life (less than 25% life remaining).
• Printing more than a 1000 pages for several days in low humidity or dry environments.

Solution

1. If the installed version is 230.119 or earlier, update the printer firmware.

   • Go to the Drivers & downloads for a list of the latest firmware versions.
   • Refer to Firmware Update Instructions for a guide on how to update the firmware.


2. If the firmware version is already updated, perform Color Adjust.

   • From the control panel, navigate to Settings > Print > Quality > Advanced Imaging > Color Adjust > Color Adjust.
