Troubleshooting

For a print quality defect of this type, it is always advisable to print the following:

  • Menu Settings Page – To check the levels of the consumable supplies (i.e., items such as imaging units, developer units and photoconductor units), because supplies that are low or near the end of their functional lives can cause various print quality issues independently of printer operation.

Note:
The User's Guide provides detailed instructions for navigating through the printer menus.

2Check which color is affected by the print quality issue. Remove that imaging unit and check the developer unit for any toner accumulation.
3Remove the developer unit from the imaging unit and shake each unit gently from side to side while holding them in a horizontal position.
4Place the developer units back on the Imaging unit. Reinstall the Imaging unit.
5Run color adjust: Print > Quality > Advanced Imaging > Color Adjust > Start, and print a test page.
