Issue description

When a user scans/copies multiple documents that are dusty using the automatic document feeder (ADF), an intermittent 282.13 or 280.15 scanner jam is registered on the printer.

Explanation

The cause of the intermittent error message is due to the accumulation of dust on the Deskew sensor of the ADF. When the sensor is blocked by paper dust and other types of residue, it triggers a false scanner jam error.

Deskew Sensor Covered with Dust

Solution

To resolve this issue, the only repair necessary is to clean the sensor and the paper-path with a clean, lint-free cloth. Make sure to perform power-on-reset (POR) and check if the error message still appears.

Deskew Sensor Cleared of Dust

IMPORTANT! A user should periodically clean the paper path and sensors of the ADF to prevent these types of jams and allow good reliable operation
