Lexmark M/MB2xxx, MS/Xx2x, and XM/Mx37x: 241.84x Paper Jam Error Appearing on the Printer

The printer posts a 241.8A, 241.84B, or any 241.84x paper jam. This happens on a brand new printer (out-of-the-box) or when Tray 1 is empty with a paper out flag has been bent.

1. Remove the duplex/multipurpose feeder (MPF) tray from the printer.

   • Open the front door

   • Press the blue handle and then pull the tray out.

2. Check and remove any jammed paper.

   



3. Visually check the bottom of the duplex/multipurpose feeder (MPF) tray to see whether there is a pass?through roller.

   

If there is no pass-through roller, the tray needs to be replaced. Check on the Paper Feeder Motor for the status of the flag - if bent, replace the Paper Feed Motor.
