Obtaining the driver version being used in Unix & Linux systems

For pre-compiled archives (.deb & .rpm) or tar files (.tar.z extn.), check the PPD file located (copied after creating a print queue) in /etc/cups/ppd folder. Open the PPD file in text and look for "File version", which will show the driver version of that queue.
