Unable to update firmware on printer having a parallel card

Issue description

Updating the firmware on a printer having a parallel card (27X2000) in it fails. This issue happens only when the printer's firmware level is prior to FW5.2.

Solution

In resolving this issue, follow steps below:

1. Remove the parallel card.



2. Upgrade the printer firmware.



3. Re-install the parallel card back to the printer after a successful upgrade.

Note:  This is only an issue on the firmware level prior to FW5.2. After the firmware upgrade to level xxxxx.052.024 or later, updating the firmware will work normally without removing the parallel card.
