Installing the printer driver using the software CD in Windows 10

Issue description

This video is provided for demonstration purposes only. It is intended to familiarize users with the installation of a Universal Print Driver v2 (UPD) PCL XL using the installer located on the driver and software CD.

Note:  Windows 10 drivers may not be immediately available. In the meantime, you may use Windows 8 or 8.1 driver packages for Windows 10 supported printers.

Solution

The following steps are summarized from the video linked in the Issue Description above.

1. Right-click on the installation pack, and click Open.



2. Observe extraction of files to temporary folder.



3. Select Extract Package.



4. Observe location C:\Lexmark\InstallationPackage.



5. Click Start.



6. Click Install when Installer opens.



7. Accept the License Agreement.



8. Click Next after reading the Security Notification.



9. Observe Searching... (Configure Printer Connection).



10. Select to highlight the printer, and select the print driver, i.e. XL.



11. Click Next to start installing customer support components and driver.



12. Click Continue to install additional software components, or click Exit.



13. Verify a successful installation via Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
