Troubleshooting 206.16 Paper Jam Message

Issue description

A 206.16 paper jam error appears on the display when a user prints a document.

Possible cause

This error message could indicate the following:

  • There might be some media blocking the paper path.
  • The paper failed to be picked because the tray guides are set too tight.

Solution

  1. Open the printer's front door and check for any media that might still be stuck inside the printer. Clear any media that is blocking the paper path and perform a test print.

  2. If the issue persists, press the Settings button on the printer.

  3. Under Settings options, use the arrow keys and navigate to:

    • Paper > OK
    • Tray Configuration > OK
    • Paper Size / Type > OK
    • Tray 1 > OK
    • Tray 1 Size > OK

Note:  Check if the paper size matches the size set on the tray guides.

  4. Should the paper size match the tray guides settings, loosen the guides and make sure that they are not too tight.
