ADF pick roller assembly will not reset to starting position

Issue description

The Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) Pick Arm for the affected products fall fairly easily.

This can also occur when the system is disturbed as presented in the following scenarios:

• If an end user clears paper on top of the ADF.
• If the user opens the ADF cover.

Note:  This scanner does not have an ADF cover sensor to determine whether the cover is opened or closed.

Solution

To resolve this issue, make sure that ADF pick arm is currently set Up.

To get the ADF pick roller assembly to reset, perform any of the following procedures:

• Power the printer OFF and power it back ON after a few minutes.
• Complete an ADF scan (manually hold up the pick roller to insert paper if the feeder is down).
• Clear any ADF jam that the printer has reported.
