Brand new or out-of-the-box printer with IPDS card not printing

Issue description

The print jobs sent to a brand new or out-of-the-box printer with IPDS card are not being printed.

Solution

1. Enable TCP 5001 after going through the Initial Set-up Wizard in setting up a brand new or out-of-the-box printer. To do this:

   • Navigate to Settings > Network/Ports > TCP/IP > TCP/IP Port Access. Select TCP 5001.


2. Proceed to the usual steps for the printer IPDS set-up. Follow the instructions from the Card for IPDS and IPDS Printer and Host Setup Guide.

Note:  When Restore to Factory Default is performed on the printer, the TCP/IP port settings revert to their default values. In this case, enable back TCP 5001 to print IPDS.
