Frequent 221.93 Paper Jam

Affected Products:

Single-Function: MS725

Issue Description:

A “221.93” paper jam appears on the printer display and the paper stops before it exits the fuser. The error may occur more frequently when the printer is being heavily used or in a hot environment.

Solution:

  1. Check to ensure the paper tray guides set in the tray match the media loaded in it. Printing on narrow media with the paper tray guides set to wide will cause this error.

  2. If the tray guide and paper sizes are set properly, check to see if the paper stops in the paper path before it exits the fuser. Similar to this image below:

  3. If so, contact technical support to replace the fuser

  4. If the media is skewed in the paper path, or the top right corner of the media is folded over, a different paper type may be required. Flipping the media over in the tray, or fanning the media may help the paper feed more reliably
