eDAS BluePrint v4.0.x App help resources and suggested troubleshooting tips

Overview

Lexmark Embedded Document Accounting Solution (eDAS) for user tracking is an embedded solution that can be installed on multifunction products (MFPs) or single-function printers (SFPs) that support the Lexmark Embedded Solutions Framework (eSF) v5.x.

The application is a Pharos integration solution that allows printers to interact with a Pharos Blueprint server to facilitate document accounting capability for copying, faxing, e-mailing, and releasing queued print jobs.

Note:  License from the app was removed because it does nothing without a functioning server which also requires license, this is typically only deployed with professional services.

Explanation/Recommendations

FW: EC0 Printer: CX860

  1. Install eDAS application.

  2. Configure device to pharos server, use alternate authentication method.

  3. Install card auth application.

  4. Configure card auth card validation as printer based, role = master.

  5. Uncheck copy workflow under public permission.

  6. Add a username on security settings.

  7. Launch copy workflow then tap card to register account.

  8. After registration, ask users to log-in, tap card again to log-in to the pharos server. It is noticed that the account is logged out when tapping a card when logging in to pharos. This is due to the Card Auth feature, which treats the second badge as logging out if there is a user that is already logged in.
