Lexmark CS/CXx31, C/MC3xxx: Printing Label Paper Gets Stuck in Transfer Module

Affected Products:

Single-Function: CS331, CS431, C2326, C3224, C3326, C3426

Multifunction: CX331, CX431, MC3224, MC3326, MC3426, MC3224i, MC3326i, MC3426i and XC2326

Issue Description:

When printing using a label paper, there are smudges/smears/voids on the printout.

There is also a poor transfer on the print area with a size of a label that may have been fed but peeled off, got stuck on the printer transfer unit, and is appearing on the printout.

Solution:

  1. Make sure the paper used is a supported media.

  2. Use flat and fresh labels when printing (i.e., Label not rolled up, folded, starting to peel off, etc.)Note: If a label peels away when attempting to feed through the printer's paper path;

    • It can become adhered to the printer's Image Transfer Unit
    • It is difficult to remove without damaging the belt and leaving behind adhesive residue which will degrade print quality.
