Lexmark M/B2236: Paper Falls Out of Full Output Bin with Messy Stacking of Paper (A4 and Legal)

Affected Products:

Single-Function: B2236dw

Multifunction: MB2236adw

Issue Description:

Filling the output bin with printed pages may result in messy stack of paper or, in some cases, paper may fall out of the Output Bin. More persistent if media is A4 or Legal.

Solution:

  1. If Output Bin paper stacking is an issue, make sure the Paper Stop (or Output Bin Extender) is opened.

  2. Remove Printed Pages before the Output Bin is filled can also resolve the issue.

Explanation:

Printer output bin stacks 150 sheets when printing with standard 20 lb / 75 gram media of sizes letter / A4 when printing in normal ambient office temperatures (72F / 50%). If printing with lighter or heavier media, different size media, or low / high temperatures, fewer sheets should be allowed to stack in the printer output bin to avoid paper falling into the floor or paper jams.
