Blotchy or Spotty Printouts in Less Humid Environments

Issue description

Printouts appear spotty or blotchy when printing a document in an environment with less humidity.

Explanation

This print quality issue appears due to the environment detection limitation of the Lexmark B2236 and MB2236 printer engine.

Recommendation

Should you encounter this issue, it is recommended to try the following procedures to see an improvement on the printout.

  • Go to the printer settings and change the paper texture to Rough.
    • Settings > Paper > Media Configurations > Media Types > Plain Paper > Plain Texture

  • If that does not work, try enabling Quiet mode.
    • Settings > Device > Maintenance > Config Menu > Device Operations > Quiet Mode
  • Should issue persist, use the Manual feeder and set the paper type to Cardstock.
    • Settings > Paper > Tray Configurations > Paper Size/Type > Manual Paper > Manual Paper Type > Cardstock
