Paper Jam Issues when the Output Bin Is Full

Affected products

Click Properties in the title section above.

Issue description

There are certain paper jam issues during duplex jobs such as a 202.15 error code that happens when the output bin is already full. The printed output that is stacked in the output bin is dragged or goes back into the printer when the paper enters the re-drive area for duplexing.

Another error code that was also observed is the 202.05 (nonduplex), where the paper can no longer exit the output bin. It sometimes gets crumpled because it was blocked by the pile of papers at the output bin when it is full.

Explanation

The current Lexmark devices do not have an output bin sensor and are unable to detect if the output bin is already full. There is no message or alert to remove the paper from the output bin and the printer will not stop printing even if the output bin is already full.

Recommendation

To avoid this issue, inform the end user to remove the paper from output bin before it gets full.
