Education Station: Confirmation Page with "Fatal Error: Did Not Generate Any Reports" Message

What you may see

After installing Education Station and attempting to grade reports, a printed confirmation page reveals a "(Fatal Error): Did not generate any Reports" message.

What to do

  1. Right-click on the pdf_java_8.0.dll file in the windows\system32 directory and select Properties.

  2. Click "Unblock" to release the block that the Operating System has on the file to allow testing to proceed.


NOTE:
Since other Education Station install files from the installation package may have been blocked as well, it may be wise to uninstall everything, and than reinstall from an Education Station install package that does not have any blocked files.

Avoidance

  1. Make sure the installation package files (the files that were unzipped into a temp. directory) are not blocked.

  2. Make sure the Education Station install package .zip file is not blocked.

  3. Never run the installation package setup.exe while browsing a zip file!

  4. Make sure the install package zip file is fully unzipped to a temp. dir. before running setup.exe.

Explanation

The pdf_java_8.0.dll file in the windows\system32 directory is being blocked by the operating system.

This file is part of the mechanism for grading tests and the aforementioned error occurs when there is an issue.

Last Resort

If you have attempted all the suggestions above without success, you can try re-running the Remark Office OMR Redistributable Engine.

To do this:

  1. Unzip the solution file, "EducationStation-4.6.solution", which is simply a compressed file.

  2. Once unzipped, navigate to the "EducationStation" directory, review the R0070EndingRedisReadMe-7.3.txt, and then run the R0070EngineRedist-7.3.exe installer.

Lastly, if you are still unable to get this solution running properly, you will need to create a formal escalation issue with technical support.

Please provide the following items if an escalation is required:

  • lsas log (\Program Files\Lexmark\Education Station\tomcat\logs)
  • eSF log (set debugging level set to ON)
  • Bundle info
  • Menu settings
  • Version of LDD used
  • Screenshot of Education Station settings from LMC (go to Solutions Tab -->Education Station-->Configuration)
  • Screenshot of Status Page
  • Operating System where Education Station is installed
