Lexmark Scan to Network (SNF) fails to work using Distributed File System (DFS) sharing

Issue Description:

When scanning to a large network using DFS sharing, the Scan to Network application will not validate the destination path. In the sample screen shot below, the validate path has an x icon and is outlined in

red.


NOTE:

  • This issue happens only when you have your destination folder masked from two different servers.

Solution:

By updating the printer firmware or upgrading the SNF application, the issue will be rectified.

  1. Be sure to perform the troubleshooting instructions found at these links:

  2. Download the printer firmware from this link,

    LHS42.MR.P515-X1.fls


    Note:
    • The firmware provided is only for the Lexmark X792 printer model. If the issue is happening on a different printer model, please contact Lexmark Technical Support to acquire the firmware you need.

    • If issue continues after the firmware update, please upgrade the SNF application.

  3. Upgrade SNF by downloading the installation file in conformity to the affected printer model from these links:

Note:

  • An x denotes any number within a given printer model series.

  • The installation file listed above is for printer models with 7/10" touch screen display.
