Unable to print when releasing a Hybrid print job

Issue description

  • The printer is not printing any print output when releasing a hybrid print job submitted from LPMC.
  • The eSF log shows that the Print Release app is trying to communicate to a 169.254.x.x IP address or Auto IP.
  • The LPMC communicates the IP address of the client computer to the cloud for the Print Release eSF app to retrieve that information for Hybrid print jobs.
  • The LPMC has no way to determine that a 169.254.x.x IP Address is not valid. The LPMC will check with the OS to determine any active and connected IP addresses and will prioritize the wired connection over wireless.

Solution

An updated LPMC has been released that supports a new setting in the configuration.xml file that can be set to "true" to filter any Auto IP address assigned to the client computer.

The field in the configuration.xml file is below, and defaults to false:

  • <FilterAutoIPAddresses>false</FilterAutoIPAddresses>

Contact Lexmark Solutions support to obtain the LPMC software that has an Auto IP filter feature.
