Unable to acquire printer logs if Embedded Web Server (EWS) access is disabled

Starting with firmware version 7.2, a new Embedded Web Server (EWS) Access

Function Access Control (FAC)

, was added under Device Management.

If the EWS Access FAC is disabled, requesting for printer log files will fail. The default setting of the EWS Access FAC is enabled.

After enrolling the printer or whenever updating a credentials task is performed, the following steps should be taken:

1. Access the printer's EWS by opening a web browser, and then typing the printer IP address.



2. Go to the Settings > Security menu and perform one of the following actions:

   • *Recommended Solution*

     Go to Local Accounts > Manage Groups/Permissions > Admin group, expand Device Management and check the Embedded Web Server Access checkbox.

   • Go to Public > Manage Permission, expand Device Management and check the Embedded Web Server Access checkbox.

   • Go to Local Accounts > Manage Groups/Permissions > All Users group, expand Device Management and check the Embedded Web Server Access checkbox.

Have the following available when calling Lexmark Technical Support;

• Printer model(s)

• Printer serial number

• Software / Solution

• Firmware Version
