Light Vertical Bands on the Left Side or Both Sides of the Page

What you will see

Light vertical bands about 3/4 to 1 inch thick are seen on the printouts. The printed images appear to be lighter on the left side or both sides of the page. The defect is visible especially on gray scales that are printed across the page.




Load a fresh ream of paper.

Issue resolved. See Step 2.

Change the paper settings to:

  • Paper type = Plain
    • Access the printer's Settingsfrom the printer home screen.
    • Navigate through Paper > Media Configuration > Media Types.
    • Touch the paper type loaded in the tray e.g., Plain,
  • Paper texture = Smooth
    • Touch the drop-down arrow for paper Texture, then select Smooth.
  • Paper weight = Light
    • Touch the drop-down arrow for paper Weight, then select Light.
