Upon boot-up of the printer, the presence of an installed DLE or Font or Flash card is not indicated on the Menu Settings Page. Sometimes, the DLE or Font card is detected but “Flash MB” is missing under Installed Features.
Rebooting the printer several times may eventually allow the DLE, Font, or Flash card to be recognized on the Menu Settings Page.
Solution
Make sure the DLE or Font or Flash card is securely seated in its appropriate slot or socket.
Update firmware to FW5.2.24, or ######.052.024 or later. See KB ID:xref_HO550_xref for update instructions.
If the issue continues to be seen after updating firmware, please contact Lexmark Technical Support. Provide this article ID# SO8693 to the support representative.
Explanation
Numerous system interactions, or timing between parallel processes and hardware detection, is causing an intermittent race condition. This race condition is preventing the optional card from being detected within a specific timeframe during the boot-up sequence.
