Brand New or Out-of-the-box Printer with IPDS Card Does Not Print

Affected Products:

Issue Description:

The print jobs sent to a brand new or out-of-the-box printer with IPDS card are not printed.


  1. Enable TCP 5001 after going through the Initial Set-up Wizard in setting up a brand new or out-of-the-box printer.

    • Navigate to


      > Network/Ports > TCP/IP >

      TCP/IP Port Access

      > then select TCP 5001.

  2. Proceed to the usual steps for the printer IPDS set-up. Follow the instructions from the

    Card for IPDS and IPDS Printer and Host Setup Guide


When a “Restore to Factory Default” is performed on the printer, the TCP/IP port settings revert to default. In this case, please enable back TCP 5001 to print IPDS.
