Lexmark CS92x, CX92x and XC9225 ? 242.93 Paper Jam Error Appears when Feeding from a High Capacity Input Tray (3000-Sheet Tray)

Table of Contents

What you will see

A 242.93 paper jam error appears on the printer display when a sheet attempting to feed from the High Capacity Input Tray (HCIT), or the 3000-sheet tray jams as it exits the tray. Most of the time the jam spot seems to be near the middle of the sheet's leading edge.

Possible cause

When the floor is not flat and even between the printer base and the HCIT, issues might result from getting paper path alignment and latching of the HCIT to the printer. If both the front and rear latches for the HCIT are not engaged properly, a jam may occur.

Solution

Perform these steps below to fix the issue:

Step

Action

1

Make sure the floor is flat, level, and even under the printer as well as under the input and output options.

2

Check the paper condition in the HCIT. If the paper has curled or swelled due to absorption of moisture, this can reduce the strength of the paper and lead to jams. Replace the paper in the HCIT, or remove the top two inches of paper loaded in the tray to see whether it improves performance.

3

Check the latch engagement of the HCIT to make sure both latches are fully engaged. See sample images below of a properly latched HCIT.

4

Should error persist, contact Lexmark Technical Support for further assistance.
