Lexmark CS92x & CX92x ? Collated Printouts Are Falling Off Bin 2

Table of contents

Issue description

When printing, scanning, or copying documents using the collate feature of the printer, the paper falls off Bin 2.

Explanation

It has been observed that this issue is due to different sized media stacked on Bin 2, where large paper (i.e., A3 or SRA3) is stacked on top of smaller media (i.e., A5). When a number of small media is printed, the large media will begin to drape off the end of the tray and end up reversing the angle that the paper lays. This will eventually push or slide the media off the end of the tray.

If the paper is all the same size, this issue will not occur.

Recommendation

To prevent this issue from occurring, please follow the recommendations provided below:

  • Do not stack large media on top of small media in Bin 2 of the floor finisher.
  • Remove any media that are currently stacked in Bin 2 when changing the paper size.
  • Make sure to print one size of media on the tray when using collate.
