Toner leak at edge of the tray

Issue description

Toner spill is usually seen at the edge of the tray, as shown in the image below.

Solution

Perform the step below to fix the issue:

The cause of this issue is caused by a missing or defective foam (A). The toner spill usually comes from the waste toner bottle every time it is removed.

The foam serves as a filter to prevent the toner from falling into the tray.

Check the condition of the foam located behind the waste toner bottle (WTB) and make sure it is intact.

Note:  Make sure to vacuum the front of the tray to remove the toner spill.

Perform these steps below to fix the issue:

Open the printer's front door. Remove the waste toner bottle.

Using the printhead wiper, clean the printhead lens.

Insert the wiper back into place.

Insert the waste toner bottle, then close the door.

Notes:

  • If the WTB is already full, replace it with a new one.
  • If it is not full, remove it from the printer and give it a shake.
