Certain Types of Media Causes Paper Jams in the Booklet Finisher

Table of contents

Issue description

There are certain types of media that can cause paper jams when printing from a booklet finisher. Examples of these media are Yes Silver multifunction media and Steinbeis Blue Angel media.

When a user prints from the booklet finisher using this A3 sized type of media, it will then cause a paper jam and register a 493.35 paper jam.

Recommendation

This issue occurs due to the low beam strength of the media being used. The leading will tend to drop to the exit tray sooner compared to media that has a high beam strength.

  • It is recommended to use media that has high beam strength and is compatible with the printer.
  • Check the User Guideto verify the types of media that are compatible with the printer.
  • Check the printer's paper settings and make sure it matches the type of media being used.
