Issue Description:

When you print a document, intermittent horizontal colored bands appear on the printed output.

Solution:

  1. Touch the Status/Supplies icon in the printer’s Control Panel. Check the supply status and replace those that are low or empty. Proceed with the next step if all supplies register sufficient amounts.

  2. Print the Print Quality Samples. From the Control panel, navigate through: Settings > Report > Print Quality Pages.

  3. Enter the settings menu: Print > Quality > Advanced Imaging > Color Adjust > Start, and print a test page.

Note: Color Adjust can be performed at the control panel or the embedded web server (EWS).

  4. If the print quality issue still appears after performing Color Adjust, replace the Color Imaging Kit.

    • 74C0Z50 – Color (CMY) Imaging Kit
    • 74C0ZV0 – Color (CMY) Return Program Imaging Kit

Additional Information:

An issue with the Photoconductor (PC) basket most often causes this print quality defect.

An unintended filament or stringer of plastic extends from the conductive drum, which causes the print quality defect.
