Lexmar CX/CS72x and XC/C41xx: Persistent 161.80 Error Appears on Out-of-the-Box Printer

Affected Products:

Single-Function: CS720, CS725, CS727, CS728 and C4150

Multifunction: CX725, CX727, XC4140, XC4143, XC4150 and XC4153

Issue Description:

A 161.80 error persistently appears on the control panel after unpacking a new printer.


Simply do a Power-On-Reset (POR) or restart the device to clear the error. To do this:

  1. Power off the printer.

  2. Wait for about ten seconds.

  3. Power the printer back on.
