The Fax Receive setting to forward incoming faxes to e-mail is ignored, and all incoming faxes are printed.

Solution:
Confirm that you are able to send and receive faxes.
Confirm that scan-to-email is working by testing an e-mail shortcut.
If both individual functions are working properly, then check your printer's firmware level. See article Downloading the latest Lexmark printer firmware should you be unfamiliar with this procedure.
If the FW-level is ##.030.086, or below, then contact Lexmark Technical Support
Update firmware.
Explanation:
A particular SMTP failure relating to fax forwarding was identified and addressed using a special PE-released version of firmware.
Enabling fax forwarding involves navigating to Settings > Fax > Analog Fax Setup > Fax Receive Settings > Admin Controls.
