A '0' entered for 'unassigned' email shortcut causes an issue

Overview

The E-mail Shortcut field indicates "Required. Range 1-999. 0 = unassigned"; however, if you use a "0" you will encounter any of the following concerns:

You enter "0" as the Shortcut designation on your printer's embedded web server > Settings > Manage Shortcuts > E-mail Shortcut Setup > Shortcut field...

An error will appear stating that the value has to be from 1-999.

Note: It is possible that you will be unable to import e-mail shortcuts utilizing the unassigned "0" shortcut designation to the device.

Note: In this scenario, an e-mail shortcut with a "0" designation has already been set up.

You select the shortcut "0" on the control panel > Email > Recipient > Address Book > Browse Shortcuts...

The recipient field does not get populated and remains blank.

Note: Other e-mail shortcuts are populated correctly.

Recommended action

To resolve any of the concerns mentioned above, the printer’s firmware should be updated to PE Release code LW30.TU.P335. Please contact Lexmark Technical Support to receive the firmware update. Our Phone or Chat Support Agents can also guide you should you need assistance in doing the update.

Additional Information

When calling for support, you will be asked for your machine/model type and serial number (SN).

Please call from near the printer in case the technician on the phone asks you to perform a task involving the printer.
