When receiving a fax:
The control panel displays alternating Printingpage (x) or Waiting messages, and status on the Fax Job Log displays OK / ***(pending).

- This is an analog fax and not Fax over IP (FoIP), which uses VoIP.
- Fax forwarding is not being utilized.
- Issue is intermittent and random.

An actual 'faxdata' file was captured and provided to members of Lexmark's development team for this issue. Data analysis found an issue with JBIG decompression where a bad image or graphic in the fax was prohibiting further processing by the printer.
Before you provide firmware
A separate issue that involves the forwarding of faxes has been identified with a similar outcome of alternating "printing" and "waiting" messages. Report any similar such instances to product engineering before providing this PE firmware fix to customers.
