Create Process Failure error message with Scan Center and Microsoft Outlook 2013

What you will see

You receive the following message when you attempt to utilize the Email feature in Scan Center:

• "Create process failure. The program doesn't exist or is currently running."

Explanation

Changes to Microsoft Outlook architecture have changed the way Microsoft adds attachments. Moreover, the later versions of Scan Center not longer include the Email feature.

Workaround

You can perform a TWAIN-scan and attach the image file to a standard e-mail, or you can configure Scan to E-mail to use Microsoft Outlook 365 if the printer is connected to a network. Configuring printer e-mail settings for use with Microsoft Outlook 365 for further information.
