Lexmark MS71x, MS81x, MX71x, & MX81x ? Blank or Intermittent Display

Issue description

Operator panel display is blank or the printer does not come to Ready when print job is sent.


  1. Check whether the AC line cord is securely connected to both the wall outlet and the back of the printer.

  2. Verify whether the wall outlet is working by plugging in other device. Try another wall outlet, if needed.

  3. Ensure the power switch is turned on.

  4. Check the sleep (moon) button. If it is illuminated, the printer may be in Sleep mode or Hibernate mode (blinking). Press the button to wake the printer up.

  5. Should the display remain off while printing, then printer may be set to Sleep-Print-Sleep mode. Access the printer’s xref_HO3373_xref and then check the Menu Settings Pages, navigate through Settings > Timeouts > Print with Display Off. If Print with Display Off is set to “Allow printing with Display off”, see xref_FA1149_xref for more information about this new feature.
